     The PENOKEAN HILLS FIELD NATURALISTS exists as an organization to educate and promote interest, knowledge, conservation and preservation of the natural history, habitat and the environment of our region for its members and the community at large.

     We hold regular monthly meetings, have informative field outings and provide opportunities for all members to become involved in nature related activities.

     This organization had its start in 1995 and has grown to a membership of close to one hundred members from Elliot Lake and across the North Shore who enjoy nature together.

     Elliot Lake, midway between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is approximately 29 km north of Highway 17 (Trans-Canada Highway, Scenic Route) via Highway 108.
